About Lauren

Lauren Mullen - Executive Coach - Rise Above Coaching

I have a passion for helping others be their best. Empowering them. Providing support and guidance to tap into the person and leader they want to be!

This purpose was what I loved about being a point guard, captain, basketball coach and now executive coach. I spent 12 years as a collegiate basketball coach. Six seasons as the Head Women's Basketball Coach at New York University. It truly was six of the most exciting and demanding years of my professional life. Rebuilding a program from the ground up. Our program a massed a record of 103-58 over that six year span. Making five trips to post season tournaments, and of those, three we danced into the NCAA tournament. We spent three seasons in the top 25. After the 2013-14 season I had the honor of being named WBCA East Region Coach of the Year and a finalist for National Coach of the Year. I share these accomplishments, not to indicate I have the answers but to show I understand and have felt the pressure of winning and successfully leading.

During those six years, I also experienced wonderful personal growth. I became a mother to three loving and busy children. In 2018, I stepped down as the Head Coach at NYU, to provide the support necessary for my wife to pursue a new career opportunity. Being home with my children provided an incredible chance for me to gain a new perspective about how I can impact those around me. As I began the process of becoming an ICF certified executive coach it quickly became apparent to me that it is the exact right fit. It allows me to live out my purpose and passion which is to fully invest in others and help them be at their best. Leaders have such an incredible opportunity and responsibility to impact those they lead. By providing executive coaching, I get to fulfill my "WHY" of supporting and championing leaders that will change their lives and those they lead.

The Journey from Athletics Coach to Executive Coach

Britt Burnham is a do it all MOMBOSS Maximizer. Her and I sat down to chat about my journey from basketball coach to executive coach and workshop facilitator. Gives a great picture of who I am, what my purpose is, how I want to support others and the role an executive coach can play in helping you transform both professionally and personally.
